sneak peek | baby girl

i recently posted some gorgeous belly shots that i took for a lovely couple and last weekend i had the great pleasure of photographing their baby girl when she was just 15 days old. so small and sweet and precious! she did not want to sleep at all (note to all new parents: never talk about what a good sleeper your baby is because they love to make you look like a liar!), so we didn't get those squishy sleepy newborn shots. but she still let us take a lot of fantastic photos and her mum and dad worked hard to keep her happy and content for me. thank you so much to k & m for sharing sweet little c with me for a couple of hours - i enjoyed my cuddle and i hope you enjoy your photos =)

this is the first time i have stopped in the middle of working on photos to come here and post some to my blog. this little baby girl is so sweet, i just couldn't wait! mum and dad worked very hard to get her to sleep, i thought they deserved to have a 'sneak peek' at the photos - rather than wait for them to arrive in the post. i am so grateful that i had the chance to photograph this little one at such an early age. =)

i always love a chance to photograph a small baby, but this shoot was even more special with a big sister along. she was such a wonderful big sister - when ever she gave her baby brother a cuddle or a gentle touch on his cheek he settled right down. she didn't really want her photograph taken, but she did it for her brother, and i know one day he will look at this shot and know how much he is loved. =)

basket

i was at a rumage sale recently and finally found a large wicker basket that i could use as a photography prop. and then i was so lucky to have one of my clients call to book a photo session for their newborn baby. again, i had done some 'belly' shots for them so i was very excited to meet the little bub and to have a baby only 1 week old to photograph! he was such a good little boy and fell asleep so nicely in this basket. don't you just want to give him a cuddle? i think the secret to photographing newborns is waiting until they are in a nice deep sleep; i wish we had tried a few more things after this moment, but really didn't want to wake him up again!! it is so amazing to see two people so in love with their baby, thanks to s & j for sharing little h with me for an hour =)

a few weeks ago i met a lovely couple and took some 'belly' shots for them. they were so sweet and so excited about becoming parents! last week i got to meet their sweet little baby boy who was very good about letting me take more photos! the very first photo I took is my favorite one ~ i have attached it both in colour and black and white. i almost always like black and white better, but the green stripes were just too cute! anyhow, it is such a cool thing to follow parents through their journey from pregancy to parenthood. i'm glad to be invited along for the ride! =)
